I blinked

I wish there was a way to stop blinking. Lately I feel like my little baby boy went from newborn diapers and up all night to having this soft blonde hair and a binky to having an agenda and a social life greater than my own. This past weekend was no different. Joey and I went to his school "Talbot Tailgate" for homecoming and hung out with the little boys that we met there for oh...twenty seconds! Then, there was a little girl there that he knows from Kindergarten. Then the little girl and joey were just attached at the hip for the rest of the night. They played games, they joked, they laughed. She even convinced him to get his face painted. Unreal. I've been asking him to get his face painted at just about every carnival and festival we've gone to for five years. He has never done it. This little lady has her face painted and suddenly it's the cool thing to do! Boys!

I just can't believe that Joey is entering into the age of wanting to go to football games on Friday nights and hanging out with friends that he sees there. I remember when I used to do that and I would see Jason at those games and now look at us! It's funny for me to think that Joey "flirting" with a little girl like his Daddy used to do to me is nothing. I remember Jason rolling down a hill at a PR football game and thinking how cool he was and hanging out under the bleachers with the girls talking about the boys at football games. Now, my little man is doing that. Can I slow time down here?!
